User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Best for the money…
Good paintball gun… it’s really nice to have a gun where every time you pull the trigger a ball comes out. Be aware though, the cyclone feed system is a gas hog, so have a good size tank on it. On my gun with a 16″ barrel, a 24oz can can blast out around 6 hoppers, so no complaints there, but I imagine with a smaller tank it could be a problem.

5 Stars Great gun
The tippmann a5 is a very solid gun that is just flat out great.OK some people may be wondering whats that thing on the side of the gun this is called a cyclone feeder and what does is it makes sure that there is a ball i each shot and reduces if not eliminates jams and its a pretty good deal that its added on because its 60 bucks if you bought it separately for any other gun. Know some people may think that its a good gun but want the newer X7 well the X7 is basically the a5 with a shroud. I can even prove it because if you get a tippmann a5 it will come with an X7 instruction manual inside which means the guns have the same internals or in other words their the same. So if you want to save like [...] just by the tippman a 5 and if you really want to make it look more real (I sure do) simply go to this website

[...]

this is a great site it shows some of the most popular formats that you can turn your tippmann a5 into which range from a small mp5 to a large Beretta 50. sniper rifle. Just a heads up on this site it shows the MOST POPULAR FORMATS not all of them.

one thing you are going to have to know when you by this gun is its a wood ball gun so if you plan to get real serious and join a team not a scenario teem but a competitive team this is not the gun for you,if you are going into a team team id recommend getting an invert mini or above to really be as effective as possible.

but back on track this gun is very good I’m not hesitating to give it a 5 out of 5. Know this is an out of the box rating if you buy a 14 or 16 inch barrel the gun will be a lot more accurate. Now you don’t have to do this but i do strongly suggest getting a longer barrel also i would also recommend getting a double trigger when you get the gun. The double trigger increases the rate of fire and only go for about [...] and are worth it but again you don’t have to do this for the gun to be a good gun. So that’s all i have to say about this wonderful gun i hope it helped wile you searched and if not I’m sorry that i could not help.

5 Stars A great, rugged marker
Tippmann’s A-5 is one of, if not the, best woodsball markers out there. With a plethora of upgrade options, you can tweak your A-5 to your personal preference and playing style. From mil-sim body kits to sights, barrels to stocks, if you want to change it or add it, you can. That’s one of the main reasons it is perhaps the most popular marker among woodsballers, because each marker is optimized for its individual owner.

As is typical for a Tippmann, the A-5 is nearly impossible to break. It’s heavier than most markers but far sturdier. It’s also fairly easy to field strip, with most of the process being removing a series of push pins.

What sets the A-5 (and the X7, which is based on the A-5 chassis) apart is the Cyclone feed system, which uses a gas-powered sprocket to force-feed the paintballs into the chamber. This means you can get 15+ balls per second if your trigger finger is fast enough without ever needing to wonder what your battery level is on your electric hopper. This system also virtually eliminated misfeeds, dry fires and ball chops.

The A-5’s main drawback is due to the Cyclone as well - compared to other markers, this thing eats air like no tomorrow (since the Cyclone is gas-powered). If you put a response trigger on the marker it really will empty your tank quickly. The Cyclone will stop working below about 800 psi, forcing you to manually feed each round with a button on the side; so those running with 3000 psi tanks have to be extra careful. You can usually get about four hoppers before running into any problems. There are several aftermarket mods, like the Vortex, that will lower the operating pressure, but these require disassembling the Cyclone feed system and will be too much trouble for the casual player.

For the drawback of having to fill your tank a few more times a day, all the advantages of the A-5 are well worth it. I own quite a few markers ranging from the cheap to the insanely expensive, but when that big scenario game rolls around, you’ll see me out there with my customized A-5.

5 Stars Greatest woodsball marker ever!!!
Tippmann knows how to build a marker they should cause they started out making real replica guns, thats why you can actually feel the realism, quality and reliability in this marker. not only does it look like a mp5 but you can upgrade this gun to look like just about any gun there is. m16,g36,ak47,mp5,barret .50, with just a few parts it can look like any of these, perfect for milisim play or scenario. one of the best things about this marker is the cyclone feeder its air powered ball feeder,it will feed them as fast as you can pull the trigger and i never had a ball break, and with a few upgrades you can fire up to 30+ balls a second! if your buying your first marker or just upgrading this is a great choice.

5 Stars i like
out of the box, i didnt have to adjust the fps…it shot at 260-270 fps. doesnt come with co2 tank, so order one. this gun seems to consume gas faster than the Tippman 98, probably due to the cyclone feed. it shoots pretty straight with the stock barrel, but range kinda sucks; i would estimate the paintball starts to drop significantly at around 75 ft. i am definately planning on getting a barrel….looking at flatline to extend its range.

still, it is a great gun, not terribly expensive, looks great.
